Report

Wanderers first run-out in preparation for 2010/2011 Season ended in a goal-less stalemate against Bardon Hill FC Reserves.

The away team started brightly but within just 5 minutes of the friendly, Wanderers front man Ollie Hunter obtained a serious injury which required him being taken to hospital with a dislocated shoulder. It resulted in a debut for 16 year-old Jack Follows as the Wanderers re-grouped after a long break in play. The first half was well balanced with both sides creating chances with Bardon striking the woodwork and debutant Follows seeing his chance go just over the bar before the break.

The Wanderers made a number of changes at the interval as again both teams had chances to break the deadlock. Jamie Holms came close for the visitors shorty after the home side saw a strike come back off the crossbar. The best chances came to the feet of Dale Marriott but both his efforts within the last 5 minutes resulted in a goal-line clearance and an excellent save from the Bardon keeper to ensure the friendly finished all square at 0-0.
